At Norwich, we champion transdisciplinary making and creativity, blending traditional, digital, and emerging technologies. To support this vision, we offer a wide range of high-quality workshops and technical resources that empower students to explore both material and digital thinking as they pursue their creative ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced and creative Computing Technician to support students on our BSc and MSc Computer Science degrees. This role involves helping students master coding and delve into areas such as artificial intelligence, web platforms, communication technologies, and machine learning.
As Senior Technician, you will lead on the design and delivery of technical skills workshops that cover a broad spectrum of computing topics. With strong problem-solving abilities and a solid foundation in analysis and logic, you will guide students through everything from data structures and systems design to object-oriented programming libraries and frameworks.
You will collaborate closely with students and academic staff across our academic portfolio, with a particular focus on those enrolled in our highly regarded Computer Arts & Technology programmes. Your input will be instrumental in shaping how technical learning is integrated into our creative pedagogy.
Drawing on your expertise, you will support students in developing a wide range of essential technical skills. You will also help them build their own problem-solving capabilities and deepen their understanding of how computers process, store, and retrieve data. The role also offers exciting opportunities to engage in research and knowledge exchange initiatives, working alongside both internal and external partners.
Above all, we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for computing and emerging technologies—someone whose enthusiasm will inspire our students and enrich their creative practice.
